School Rumble Z: Z stands for ZzZzZ
I remember some years ago when School Rumble anime was out. It was hilarious, fresh, and exciting because of the love relationships and misunderstandings. After waiting years for the third semester (season) of SR, finally, they released the OVA (25 & 26) and guess what?

It was like a slap at my face. The animation was superb and it was good to see them again…but…They skipped entire volumes and went straight to the final chapter of the manga. I would have preferred a full 3rd season and then the OVA…It was just rushed and I felt that the producers never took the time to build up the drama that drive to the last episodes of the anime…and really, that pissed me off…It was like some sort of lack of respect for the fans that followed the comedy, the drama, episode after episode.
My main and probably only complain is…Is this going somewhere? and how long We have to wait for a complete resolution? I am reading School Rumble Z but I dont know whats on Jin Kobayashi mind right now. I am finding SRZ manga boring and not silly. When I say “boring” I mean that it is going nowhere and when I mean “not silly“, I mean that I dont see the fun anymore.
I know several people that gave up on School Rumble. For me, the anime stopped at second semester and the manga, well, I will not hold any high expectations for it…until Kobayashi Jin decides to stop milking this and decides the fate of their characters that unfortunately, they are going nowhere. I still wants a Yakumo or Eri ending, but not Tenma please.

P.S. I had to reedit the whole post because some readers probably misunderstood my opinion and thought I hate School Rumble. I dont hate School Rumble. I like it a lot, but my loyalty to the series went to a new low with this ending. I will keep reading to see if there any “love” relationship and development, but I dont want to read it forever and going nowhere.

I too am disappointed in “School Rumble Z,” but then I learned that the magazine it is published in Magazine Special, which is where all of the “School Rumble” extra chapters are published (the side stories that complimented the main story or were just stand alone stories such as the gang in the time of the cave men). Once I learned that, I figured that all we’ll get are the School Rumble characters in different scenarios with the occasional story that looks back to the original “School Rumble” and picks up an item or two.
Thanks for clearing that out. I wonder what will happen with this exhausted franchise anyway….I just hope for the best….
Are there any new news about whats going to happen to SR?
I absolutely hated the Ending.It was basically a big slap in the face of the Viewers saying “im finshing this series but not for real so i can jump back to it wheneever i feel like it to make some more cash”

Well, the only thing that is going on is the School Rumble Z manga…I am reading it, but dont see anything new on anime or OVA. Probably later they will keep milking it…
While it is true that School Rumble gets rather draggy, i feel that the ending was satisfying and meaningful. I don’t understand what you mean when you say its boring and silly, I personally couldn’t help not finishing it. The School Rumble Z thing sounds rather lame I admit, it would be nice if it showed their adult lives or sth like that.

Well, I feel the ending was not satisfying because I felt it rushed and there was no resolution at all…They skipped so many episodes of the manga that it lost its “meaning”….Boring, well, It was funny at some parts, but I was hoping for more and at the end.
I am reading School Rumble Z and still cant find something that can really make me want for more. I will keep reading, because I dont want to think it is hopeless…yet.
hehehehehe….. its really hilarious….. im still waiting for the another series of SR, i was hoping that they make a follow up episodes after the last series… season 3 of SR… haaayyyy, wish it would be in the process now…. about the manga SR Z, its really funny….
Well I see your point but here’s the reason why I get your angry. Fact is School Rumble series is fantastic and the writing is insanely good. The reason you were disappointed with the OVA episodes 25 and 26 is because there was no build up to it. I would have been far more satisfied with a full 3rd season rather than what was available.
But to deny the fact that the last two episodes were silly and garbage is improper. The drama and the tension from 25 leading into 26 would rival some of what the best writers could come up with in Hollywood. But I do agree that I wish there was more of a formal coda if anything else a 27th epilogue episode.
