Mr. Bush: “Please don´t take off your shoes!”

This has been a popular subject from the beginning of the week. Bush received a farewell salute in Iraq with a pair of shoes. If you still don´t know what happened on Sunday, you “dodged” it. During a press conference on Iraq, a local journalist took off his shoes and threw both of them to the U.S. president.  Video clip below:

Actually, I didnt knew until yesterday when a friend told me about it.  The whole incident now has parodies on it´s own (Just look on youtube) and many people praised the act while others see this as disgraceful.  In Japan for example, the media praised Bush for his fast reflexes avoiding the shoes. They even recreated the scene to see how this was possible.

Now the question remains: What happens next? The Arab world wants the Iraq government to free the journalist who did this.  Even in the U.S., many people consider the journalist a hero proving how unpopular is G.W.Bush.  Others praised Mr. Bush for having such reflexes, dodging this attack and having a calm reaction about this.

My thoughts now is that probably in future press conferences, the guests will have to adopt a japanese custom…to take off their shoes before entering the house…

The reporter who threw his shoes to Mr. Bush is...

  • Hero! G.W.Bush deserved it! (39%, 16 Votes)
  • Villain! Shame on him! Just wanted attention! (12%, 5 Votes)
