The problem is that the only time he's really ever done any quality acting was in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Parenthood, both of which came out in the '80s. It's been 20 years since he did a good job on screen. And don't even get me started on how awful he was in Much Ado About Nothing. On the other hand, he seems really excited and enthusiastic about this project. With an uncharacteristic energy level like that, combined with good direction and writing, the movie could actually turn out well. Reeves is a bad choice. He's robotic as an actor, and Spike's 'fluid' fighting style will likely be mauled by Reeves' stiff and mechanical acting. Spike is supposed to be cool and laid back... Reeves comes across as dark and brooding. Even if he mildly LOOKS the part... I highly doubt he'll be able to fill the role well. I don’t like Reeves.
