Even the japanese police are targeted by thieves!

YOKOHAMA–A police radio and a vehicle inspection certificate were stolen in March from a police bus in a parking lot at Tsurumi Police Station in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama, it was learned Thursday.

As there were no signs of anyone intruding into the station’s grounds, the police are investigating the case as theft, suspecting the crime may have been committed by an insider.

Following the incident, the digital radio was deactivated by remote control, so there is no risk of it being misused, the police said.

According to a senior officer at the police station, the theft was detected at 6:45 a.m. on March 16, when a police officer noticed the driver’s door had been forced open.
