I wonder what kind of circumstances this decision was based on. I never had a real site on Geocities, though I've had them on a handful of other oldschool, 90's free webhosts like Homestead and FortuneCity, I believe it was. I would definitely make backups of those old sites though -- it's something I regret not having done with a few of mine. Aw, snap, really?
