Queen’s Blade 12: Reina’s EPIC battle…and Impressions!

Finally IT is over…NOT!!!…For Queen´s Blade haters out there, the series is going to stay for a second time. The final episode for the first season arrived and it delivers interesting battles. It seems they saved most of the budget for this “Epic” episode as it shows a final showdown for the good and the bad girls a.k.a The Three Stooges. I made lots of screenshots and a brief description of what happened. If there is something missing, my apologies as I wrote this during my lunch break…at work. Probably I will do some corrections once I get home, but meanwhile, enjoy this.
Everyone is doing their share of the fight…and I mean EVERYONE. The Extras a.k.a. disposable soldiers that were with Erina died in battle thanks to the army of darkness. General cliche…of course. Once the good girls reach the gate, they find that there is a barrier that protects them from the evil skeletons. Everyone is inside, except Reina. (Why I am not surprised!) Melona, Airi and Menace deals with the poor girl. Lucky for Reina that Nowa gets in time to support her. She fights Airi but has a bad time until Alleyn gets there to help. Everyone go backinto battle including Yumil and Cattleya. Nanael decides who will fight for the MULTIPLE Queens Blade matches.

One of the main highlights of the episode is the amount of Melona Transformations. Basically She transforms into friends while fighting Reina. That includes Tomoe and of course the Real Tomoe does not like that and launches an attack against the now Naked “Tomoe” / Melona…”CONFUSING RIGHT??”

Now, this was surprising and laughable!
I laughed a lot on many scenes featuring Melona battles and that includes her infamous boob acid attack as well…and disguised as Reina! At the end, Reina applies her now famous Dragon Tail attack and defeats Melona.

Desperate Melona invokes the power of a huge warrior and everyone seems to be in a pinch. Finally with the help of Claudette and Nanael, Reina defeats this huge soldier with a sword strike in its eye.

The Battle is over…but not the series as EVERYONE will fight for the Queen´s throne.
Impressions:
Well, the series is over for now. It was sure a fun ride for everyone…even haters of the series stick to it to see if there was a train wreck or just for curiosity. For Me, it was a mixed bag and I will tell you the pros and cons of it…
Pros:
+ Great character designs.
+ Great Seiyuu cast (This is probably the number 1 reason)
+ Fanservice
+ Medieval theme
+ Comedy (C´mon, you sure laughed most of the time)
+ Decent Plot
+ It could have been worse.
Cons
- Lack of Quality Control in some parts of the animation.
- Storytelling was below average. Same for Plot Structure.
- Ridiculous Fanservice at some points and badly drawn boobs in some parts.
- It could have been better.
I enjoyed blogging this. Far from perfect I know, but it was fun and thats the whole point. It was just mindless entertainment with a great seiyuu cast and nice character designs. Animation and plot could have been better and that are my expectations for the second season. I hope the producers learn their lesson, took notes and will improve for the second round. All I can say is Long live the Queen!
