Recently on Japanese TV, They broadcasted the HD TV version of Evangelion You Are (Not) Alone movie. At the end of the broadcast, they showed an updated version of the Evangelion 2.0 preview.

Original 1.xx trailer of Evangelion 2.0 (Movie was in production)

Updated trailer of Evangelion 2.0 (Movie is in theaters)

Originally when Evangelion 1.0 and 1.11 were released on theaters and Bluray respectively, Evangelion 2.o was in production so they showed us only a glympse/draft scenes of the 2.0 movie.  Now that Evangelion 2.0 took the Box Office by storm, They finally upgraded the original preview at the end of Evangelion 1.xx HDTV broadcast with the finished scenes…the same scenes people watch on theaters! Take a look at some of the comparisons.

Nice touch indeed from Hideaki Anno.

Again, I have got to avoid spoiling myself too much! I need to see the movie in whole!

Interesting contrast between the two. I would imagine that Gainax took the trouble to enhance TV version’s video quality in order to make the audience feel there is a darker side of the story which fans may or may not expect since we already what the orginal series was all about. They’re basically trying to enhance our viewing experience with this!
