Evangelion 2.0: The first infamous CAM version!

Evangelion fans…Beware! Because there is already some CAM versions of Evangelion 2.0 out there. I got a preview of how it look like and God, It really stinks! The versions floating on the internet are either from small digital cameras or “keitai” (celphones). Just take a look at some of the screenshots…Don´t worry, they will not spoil the fun and excitement you are expecting in an official release.

You can barely see a thing here!

Oh Mari, Wish you look better!

The CAM video was scarier than the scene itself!

The first CAM version I found was just the last 25 minutes of the movie so I wonder why they did that anyway?…I recommend to just wait for the official release so you can fully enjoy the experience…I just wish Gainax could consider doing a worldwide release like Hollywood studios does with their productions. If Hideaki Anno is reading this, you better listen to your overseas fans!

Must control myself, I mustn’t see it, I mustn’t see it.

I’ve read how a lot of fans have complained that the Eva movie(s) should be released simultaneously around the world to prevent piracy, but from an economic standpoint, I can’t imagine that making any sense. Even Funimation’s release of 1.0 is sparse, limited runs, so if you can’t make one of the very few showings, you’re screwed. These movies are geared to a very small part of the population (ie never a top box office money maker) so I’m thinking the film prints would be very expensive and are probably reused as it travels around the US and Canada. Also, take in the fact that even wide release films are constantly pirated with equally bad cam rips, and it just boils down to you’re out of luck if you’re not in Japan when these films come out.

Its not Miyazaki which means in the US this will get NO attention. I just saw the last 26 min and for someone who had to wait ten years just for end of eva to come out im grateful. Thank god for crazy otakus willing to risk their neck for Eva fans around the world..
