After an interesting sequence of events during the last weeks, Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi comes to an end. Everyone was expecting something interesting, some talking from a Cat and it happened. After all, it is Suzumiya Haruhi.

Haruhi shouted satisfactorily, and I stopped the recording at once, while Koizumi placed down the reflector board he was carrying.

“I want that cat to talk. He is the cat of a magician after all. He needs to at least say something mean.”

Now this is ridiculous.

“Your name is Shamisen. Hey, Shamisen! Say something!”

How is he supposed to talk? No, actually, I beg you, please don’t speak.

Sorry Kyon…The Cat talked!

It was hilarious to hear Shamisen talk and Kyon´s reaction. Good FTW moment.

A lot of things happened here, especially when Haruhi unconciously was mixing the movie´s plot into reality and of course the filming itself. There were three key conversations between Kyon, Koizumi, Asahina and Yuki during the episode…I wont enter into details so you can enjoy the episode spoiler free. If you want a detailed synopsis for what happened in this episode, go straight to Baka-Tsuki. It is virtually a carbon copy of the light novel of Sighs, except that the prologue was placed at the end of the episode, and to be honest, I found it really funny.

Basically Haruhi was told the truth about the reality of the SOS Brigade. The truth was told by Kyon…

“Listen to me, I need to tell you something very important.”

“What?”

“Haven’t you always wished for the existence of aliens or time-travelers or espers?”

“That’s right. So what?”

“In other words, the purpose of our SOS Brigade is to find these people. Right?”

“Not only to find them, we have to be able to play together. Just finding them isn’t good enough, I want to participate in the act, not just be part of the audience.”

“But I always wish I was watching from the sidelines… sigh, whatever. But have you ever thought that these aliens, time-travelers, or espers might be surprisingly close to us?”

“Ah? What do you mean? Don’t tell me you mean Yuki, Mikuru-chan, or Koizumi-kun? If it’s them, then that’s not really a ’surprise’.”

“Umm… actually I meant to tell you that it was them all along.”

“Are you an idiot? It can’t be that easy.”

“That’s true, this would be too simple by normal standards.”

“Then tell me, who’s the alien?”

“You would be very glad to hear this. Nagato Yuki is the alien. Hmm, how should I put it? Should be Integrated something entity… or Data something entity… something like that. Basically created by aliens and given a body.”

“Hm, then what about Mikuru-chan?”

“Asahina-san is easy to explain: she’s a time-traveler. She comes from the future. There’s no problem calling her a time-traveler right?”

“Then how many years into the future is she from?”

“I don’t know this, she didn’t tell me that.”

“Oh, I see.”

“Really?”

“That means Koizumi-kun is an esper? Were you planning on telling me that from the start?”

“That is correct.”

“Ahh.”

Haruhi twitched her eyebrows while she spoke, then slowly breathed in some air, and screamed:

“DON’T MESS WITH ME!”

Epic!

Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi was well animated and the story was good.  Bad thing that it ended so fast, a lot of difference if We compare it with the previous arc shown for two months in a repetitive form.

What lies ahead for the series? We are not sure. Only Kadokawa and Kyoani knows, but the adventure has been good so far….At least with Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, the 1st and last Endless Eight episodes and Sighs.

Even though “The Sigh” isn’t my favorite of the Haruhi stories, I enjoyed it =) It’s too bad this looks likes it will be the end of the new episodes for a while, but you never know what might happen when it comes to Haruhi.
