Japan Police: We warned and still, you grope!
The Police warned and still They don’t learn.
A man was arrested for molesting a high school girl on a train on the first day of a police campaign in Tokyo to crack down on such crimes, investigators said.
Tsutomu Yamane, 30, an employee of the Tokyo Shimbun daily, stands accused of violating a metropolitan government ordinance prohibiting people from creating a nuisance. He has admitted to the allegations, police said.
His employer is poised to punish him. “If the allegations prove true, we’ll take strict punitive measures against him,” a spokesman for the Tokyo Shimbun said.
Yamane fondled the body of a 15-year-old high school girl on a JR Saikyo Line train that was stopping at Shinjuku Station at around 7:55 a.m. on Monday, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) investigators said.
Officers who were patrolling the train as part of the MPD’s campaign to crack down on molesters spotted his actions and arrested him red-handed.
This is not the first time that Yamane has been arrested for molestation, according to Tokyo Shimbun officials. In December 2007, Yamane was arrested for molesting a high school girl on the same railway line while he was working as a photographer.
Prosecutors did not indict him over that case because he reached an out-of-court settlement with the victim. However, he was suspended from duty for a month on disciplinary grounds and transferred to the company’s automobile dispatch division.
