It seems some Japanese men likes to sit down to take a leak…There are many reasons for this trend so lets see what are those…

A survey sponsored by toilet giant Toto has found that over a third of Japanese men sit down to take a leak at home.

Fully 33.4 percent confessed to being sedentary micturators, up 9.7 points from the last survey in 2004. Splash avoidance was the most common reason given at around 70 percent, and Toto believes it’s discovered a new vein of fastidiousness in modern Japanese man.

The Internet survey polled 500 men aged 20 or over from across the country. By age group, 41 percent of those in their 50s said they were sitters, followed by 36 percent in their 40s, 31 percent in their 20s and 30 percent in their 30s.

Aside from splashing, other reasons given were the ease of posture (45.5 percent) and cleaning up (43.1 percent).

The number of those who said they stood up dropped 8.2 points from the last survey to 57.2 percent. As for their reasons for standing, the most common reason cited at 82.2 percent was “Because that’s what your supposed to do,” followed by ease of posture (28.7 percent) and speed (20.6 percent).

We can guess not everyone have the gift to do a “good shot” at the toilet and believe me…It is really disgusting to clean the mess! Do you believe this trend takes out the “Manliness”?

I guess its true what they say about japanese men, I would hardly describe it as a comfortable position that has less splash.

i don’t think it takes out the manliness. I mean, i sit down to pee. You see, my bathtub is across from my toilet, so I sit on that and from there, I can hang my “holy staff” over the rim of the toilet. If I stand it just falls into the water, so this is helpful. And yes, this entire post was a lie.
