Meet Seiko-chan!

Seiko chan

Electronics parts maker Murata Manufacturing Co. revealed the next model of its unicycle-riding robot Murata Seiko-chan on Saturday, one year after the little robot made its debut.

The new Seiko-chan — cousin to the bicycle-riding Murata Seisaku-kun robot — has trebled her top speed to 15 centimeters per second and, due to improved stability, can now take curving courses.

When presented with a 1.5-meter-long, 2-centimeter-wide balance beam, Seiko-chan looked close to falling as she was lit by a barrage of camera flashes, interfering with the onboard camera Seiko-chan uses to judge distance.

“She gets dazzled just like a person,” a company representative said with a bitter smile.

I think Seiko-chan looks cute. It needs improvement, but sure She is way too advanced comparing it with other robots.
