Sony Games are popular among…Thieves?!
You can know whats the number 1 game console in Japan by looking at the sales stats and polls…and also which one is the favorite among burglars and thieves…

A game shop in the city of Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture, was burglarized a couple of days ago. At about 1:50, culprits broke through the shop’s glass front door and proceeded to steal 504 games totaling two million yen in value.
It’s unclear if this is related, but the site also reports that another game shop in Shiga Prefecture, this time in the city of Hikone, was burglarized about an hour later. Culprits walked away with 40 games, valued at 160,000 yen.
Surprisingly, prefectural police provided a specific system-by-system break down of the stolen merchandise, at last allowing us the answer the age old question of console is most popular amongst thieves.
The break down for the Moriyama break in is:
- PSP: 200 games
- PS3: 140 games
- Wii: 100 games
- Xbox 360: 20 games
Looks like the PSP wins. But not so fast! The stolen games from the Hikone shop were all PS3. That brings PSP and PS3 to similar levels of popularity amongst criminals.

If you have Xbox360, you are probably safe…

Remember Ropid, the Robot?

Well, Asahi bring us a cool video featuring this cool robot and I must say it is amazing. It features a wide range of movements and it seems pretty smart…Check the video and the information about Ropid! I laughed a lot watching what this can do, and laughed in a good way…
Robo Garage, a venture company supported by Kyoto University, unveiled a new humanoid robot on Tuesday that can jump quickly and land on its feet.
The 38-centimeter-high and 1.6-kilogram robot, dubbed “Ropid,” was developed by the company’s president, 34-year-old Tomotaka Takahashi, over two and a half years. Boasting the highest jumping ability among humanoid robots, the Ropid can quickly bend its knees and ankles and jump to a height of eight centimeters using a built-in belt that links its joints.
The robot also contains a voice-recognition system in its head. Nodding to the instruction “Kaishi” (start), the Robid bent down, jumped and landed perfectly during the press preview on Tuesday.

Stealing a Purse to play Video Games!
Two Japanese boys did the “smart” thing…They stole a purse and went into a gaming spree…
Police took two boys, aged 10 and 13, into custody Tuesday for snatching a purse containing 100,000 yen in cash from a 66-year-old woman.
They blew the money on a gaming spree in Sapporo, police said.
The two cousins–a second-year junior high school student and a fourth-grade elementary school pupil here–grabbed the woman’s bag as they rode double on a bicycle, police said.
The two told police they targeted an older woman because they figured it would be easier to steal from a senior citizen.
Afterward, the two went to Sapporo, about 130 kilometers away, and spent the money on games at amusement centers, moving from one to another by hopping into taxis.
