Winter Sonata Anime delayed?
Fans of popular Korean drama Winter Sonata are waiting with great expecations, the anime version of it. However, there could be some disturbing news waiting for them…
According to ZakZak news, the production of the upcoming anime Winter Sonata has been delaying. Although the first episode will be aired on October 17th, the producers have completed only three episodes. ZakZak reported there should be at least five episodes completed before the airing of an anime.
An anonymous staff disclosed to ZakZak that a change of the director last June and the interference of the main actor Bae Yong Joon in the anime production have been a great burden for the staff.
The production committee of Winter Sonata admitted that they have changed the director and there are only three completed episodes, but denied the delay in the schedule and Bae’s interferences.
There are only two things We know now…Tomorrow is Winter Sonata’s premiere and We will watch three episodes…for now….The rest? Only time will tell. One thing that brought my attention was the fact that Producers needs at least 5 episodes to broadcast an anime. Interesting piece of information.

Main actors Korean?
The original actors from the Korea drama are in the animated version as far as I know…
According to Anidb they expect it to be Korean spoken and subtitled in japanese.
The thing that’s most interested about the “five episodes must be completed before airing” comment is that it further brings to bear the (already rather obvious if you think about it) fact that the things that happen from week-to-week in anime aren’t changed as the result of audience participation or feedback the previous week. Sometimes you hear people make comments like “they heard our complaints, and so this week they changed it” — well, no, that change was almost certainly initiated weeks or months prior, especially if it revolves around basic elements of the story and such.
That being said, I wonder if perhaps the “five episodes complete” may refer to a certain step in the process (like dialog recorded, or all tween animation done, or something). In any case, it isn’t that the TV studios airing the show have 5 episodes full baked before the air the first one or anything (as, for example, some of those working on simulcasts commented that stations only get the shows shortly before airing). But regardless, the point in this case is that, at least so far, they’ve failed to meet a key milestone.
