I can only base my doubts about what I see on AnimeSuki and Baka-Updates, but I very much doubt that for the english subbed anime the download will go over 2 million (and then I probably will have accounted for the download through IRC as well including the rips). So unless in Asia itself downloads are rampant I fail to see how they ever get anywhere near that 69 million. Personally speaking, I'd love to buy all the stuff I like, but only if I win some lottery that will actually happen. Besides, when there is a new series you want to watch it NOW and not wait 1 year (or more) before you actually can buy the DVDs ... which imho are vastly overpriced anyway. In that respect I think crunchyroll is the way to go for the anime companies .... now if only they can crank up the quality somewhat as I've been told that it leaves to be desired (especially translation wise). I have my doubts about that number. Personally speaking, I’d love to buy all the stuff I like, but only if I win some lottery that will actually happen. Your Narutos, One Pieces, and FMAs will always be easy to market and sell, but how about classic series like Macross and LotGH, or recent niche titles like Kaiba and Trapeze?
