Fumiko’s Confession!

As you may noticed in recent days, there is a new hit on Youtube and Nico video and it is becoming a sensation on the web. It is an indepedent anime short production called Fumiko’s Confession. Here are the details…

Hiroyasu Ishida, a 21-year-old student who is aspiring to be an animator, has posted on Monday a 143-second “Fumiko no Kokuhaku” (Fumiko’s Confession) anime short that he independently directed, animated, edited, and recorded. Ishida (a.k.a. “Tete”) received some assistance on the backgrounds, 3D CG textures, in-between animation, and 3D modeling. His personal website is now hosting screenshots, the entire storyboard sequence, character designs, backgrounds, and other documents. Ishida posted other examples of his animation work online.

Ishida is studying in the Animation department at Kyoto Seika University’s famed Faculty of Manga. The department’s teaching staff includes director Gisaburô Sugii (Night on the Galactic Railroad), sound director Susumu Akitagawa (Akira, Legend of the Galactic Heroes), designer Hiroshi Ogawa (Burn-Up Scramble, Great Dangaioh), and CG director Tsuneo Maeda (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Metropolis). In addition, anime creator Yoshiyuki Tomino (Gundam, Dunbine) and director Rintaro (Metropolis, X) are visiting professors.
