Hosoda Mamoru WAS going to direct Haruhi movie!

During the Animation Asia conference, there was interesting information regarding the Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi…

According to Anime!Anime!, director Hosoda Mamoru disclosed at Animation Asia Conference that he accepted an offer of the director of Haruhi Suzumiya movie. But the producers didn’t let him direct it in the end.

He also said his next movie has already been under way. The script writer is Okudera Satoko (“Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo”, “Summer Wars”) and Hosoda wants to assign the character design to Sadamoto Yoshiyuki again.

I wonder why They took this decision…Mr. Hosoda Mamoru directed anime projects like Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and Summer Wars. I think his style was appropriate for “Vanishment” but guess We will have to wait to see the final movie and ask ourselves…what if?

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo is brilliant…but the decision NOT to choose Mr. Hosoda Mamoru to direct the Haruhi movie is not brilliant…
