Michael Moore visits a Meido Cafe in Akihabara!
Michael Moore is visiting Japan to promote his latest production about the Economic meltdown. During his trip, He visited a Meido Cafe in Akihabara. Here are the details…

Shinichi Karube of “Mezamashi TV” takes American director Michael Moore on a tour of Akihabara
Michael Moore is amused with the crowd of onlookers taking photos of himself and Karube. He borrows a camera from one onlooker so he can take the onlooker’s photo. He then asks to call the guy’s dad, who is a reporter for the Sankei Shimbun (Fuji TV is part of the same media group). The father cannot speak English, but Moore attempts a conversation anyway.
Upon seeing a man wearing a mask, Moore decides to give a lecture on why it is good for us as humans to breath in germs and get a stronger immune system. The lecture doesn’t seem to have much effect.
They move on to a figure shop. Moore ignores the figures and buys some wire instead.
Next, they interview a Japanese gyaru. She had never heard of Michael Moore, which gives the show an opportunity to air some clips further introducing Moore’s achievements to the audience at home. The gyaru and her friend had just come from a maid cafe….
Moore and Karube go to Akihabara’s famous @home maid cafe. Moore does not seem to enjoy the servility of the maids and fears that it is some sort of pedo business that will soon be raided by the police.
Before leaving, Moore apparently comments on his opposition to Obama’s Afghanistan policy. He then reminds Karube that masks are bad and germs are good. Teenage girls are to be avoided.

At least We know He is not an Otaku, but it would be interesting to see if someday, He produces a documentary about Otaku…That would be surreal…

That was entertaining in a kind of sad way. I mean, I understand that, being a Japanese variety show, they’re intentionally throwing him the weirdest stuff, and he’s there to promote his film and all that, but it’s like… he’s not even -trying- to understand the culture he’s visiting. He just keeps lecturing every person he meets on how they’re doing it wrong and how America is better. Doesn’t let down his cultural blinders for even a second, so he can actually experience what Japan has to offer him.
And then at the end of the day he’s like, “Okay, so what have I taught these silly Japanese people?” Hell, the only thing I learned from him was how -not- to behave when visiting a foreign country. It’s people like him that’re the reason everyone complains about American tourists.

Michael Moore is such a ! Gah! I can’t stand this self-righteous rich *******. He gets rich on the capitalist system, cries that he’s not rich (because despite having millions, he wants to maintain the illusion that he’s just a common person trying to fight the power), and gets to travel the world. What a frelling loser.

Indeed, the guy is a wealthy fat hypocrite. Japan has more to teach us then we to them. There violence levels are so low compared to our own rage here in the US and there you can be Otaku, Cosplay and be accepted. Here you look at someone the wrong way and immediately your deemed an *******. I love to move there and become a part of Japan but i hear you need a diploma? There has to be other ways.
