One Piece Movie beats Ponyo at the Box Office!
It seems Anime lovers are lining up for the One Piece latest movie and it is impressive to know that it surpassed Ponyo at the Box Office!

According to Eiga.com, the box office of the first two days of One Piece: Strong World was 1 billion and 38 million yen ($11.8 million), which exceeded that of Gake no Ue no Ponyo ($11.6 million). The One Piece movie was premiered on 188 screens and Ponyo was shown on 481 screens. The average income per screen established the Japanese record.
Toei Film announced that they will additionally print 1 million copies of the “volume 0″ of One Piece manga book, which is a giveaway for the audience.

I wonder how the people will react with Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi and Fate Stay Night Movie…I can just imagine the long lines!

I’ve heard the One Piece movies aren’t all that great but perhaps this is one of the better ones. Or maybe people just want their copy of volume 0 XD

I think it is all the obvious reasons…The movie was supervised personally by the Mangaka, the volume 0 of the manga, etc…

It may be something that builds over time. Ponyo’s success got everyone looking for more and that made them almost have to check out One Piece .
