One Piece Mangaka Revelations!
An interesting interview revealed something about One Piece that fans probably wants to know…or probably, They already knew!

Oda Eiichiro’s interview was published in AERA magazine on December 14th. In the interview, he said he decided not to create full length manga other than One Piece. He thinks One Piece should be for shonen and he wrote the story under restrictions such as:
- No romance
- Avoid scenes of murder and deaths
- A happy party comes after each battle
Last month, Oda said the story reached the climax of its middle stages by the volume 55.
Considering there are some female characters in One Piece, I wonder if it is just a waste not to explore some romance for the series. Only One Piece fans know it better!

Why would 12-year old boys be interested in romance ?

To be honest with you, I am a newbie on One Piece and have no idea whats all about…but I think it is for all ages…no? Besides, I think Romance if done right, can enhance any story a little bit more…but watching One Piece success with the Mangaka restrictions, it is probably not a need after all.
With all the posts about One Piece I have been reading lately, I think it is time to watch episode 1 to see whats all about…It is going to be a long journey…

Dont worry, its a pretty good series with kind of a Dragonball light approach to conflict. And while no one actually “dies” its often implied that they have and people are often injured so violently your left to assume they died. However their is some aspect of cartoon physics, you can knock somone off into the horizon and they will survive. Theirs also some situations you really wish they did romance, Usopp has a romantic relationship at the start but it seems to really emphasis the intense Nakama relationships. For a good example watch on youtube the recent Carling adds “you know who your mates are”:
Carling Belong Space ad
You Know Who Your Mates Are Desert Island
Explorer You know who your mates are
I did the One Piece catchup last year, did a similar naruto catchup in Uni, and I am presently doing a Detective Conan Catchup (up to ep 201, movie 4 out of 500+ eps and a dozen films.

Well, I have a feeling you’ll fall in love with One Piece if you get into it.
I’m only on episode 4 of the anime (lol), but I’m caught up in the manga!
It’s full of the most cliche things a shounen manga should have, but… despite the constant repetition… and the constant non-seriousness… and the constant whatever else you might typically hate in a series… this one just does it right.
And my favorite part that I’ve never seen done better in ANY other manga series:
You almost find yourself among the characters, rooting them on, and eventually, feeling ashamed of yourself as Luffy slaps you in the face for doing things wrong your whole life.
No, really, he does that… and your heart skips a beat every time he says something meaningful because you know he’s right, despite how unfitting it feels for you to do.
It takes a while to really understand what it’s about, but the themes get better and better as you go along, and when you catch up, you’re like, “Why does it have to slow down now!?”

All aspects are great! The story, characters, art, and anything else that maybe I forget mentioning it
.
But if you ask me what aspect the greatest one. I must say, the story. It’s so slow story but not bored you down! There’s a mysterious character appear once in volume 10, and discovering the detail about him is in many later volume, about 40s (or 50s, me forget
) I think.
And the most interesting about the story is: everything do not go according to the previous well-prepared plan. There’s always some trouble wrecking up the plan, and resulting more intense, more exciting story!
I surprise you don’t really know One Piece yet. I love it, my friends love it, even my already in collage sister loves it. You should read the manga, or watch the anime.

That “interview” is quite dated. Just because a magazine published it recently, it’s not necessarily new. The way the manga has drifted, only the “no romance” rule remains in full effect.
