Thank Goodness for Yokatta Web!

Pardon my pun in the title, but truly, that is exactly how I feel about this website. I’ll be the first to confess that anime was not my first obession with Japanese culture; even Haruhi was a passing phase at once. I first heard of a member named EX Japan on a fansubbing website who could order things from stores and auction sites for people overseas. I was a big Kamen Rider Den-O fan at the time and had every main form except for one: the limited edition Climax Form which was only available in Japan and couldn’t be shipped. I decided to try her services and I got the figure at a great price (especially considering what it’s going for now) and had a great experience buying from her.
Since I wasn’t employed due to schoolwork, I couldn’t purchase much of anything in order to save money until this summer. Once I had a steady income, I bought two more figures with extremely fast shipping for less than if I had bought them from HLJ with normal shipping since Amazon Japan doesn’t ship outside Japan for figures.
Then came the Haruhi DVDs. I bought the Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody DVD and became addicted to the Haruhi set. I just knew that I had to have the original 8 as well. They would make an absolutely spectacular Christmas present for myself, and once again I used her services to get them. I didn’t get just the first 8 DVDs though. I got the ones with cool special edition post cards and a binder from Toranora on Yahoo Japan auctions. Right now my Haruhi shelf looks like this:

Currently I’ve got an open order for the Vanishment/Disappearence OST, Theme song CD, ENOZ album, and Gensou DVD with her. That’s why my reviews on them will be slightly late. I could’ve ordered them from an online store, but there was a special campaign in Japan where if you bought the Vanishment OST and Theme song CD from specific stores, you got a special B2 reversible poster. I have a soft spot for posters, so of course I wanted to get it. EX said no problem and they’ll be on their way either at the end of this month or next month.

So where can you too use the services of EX Japan? On her official store website at Yokattaweb.com. She only charges a middleman fee of 700 yen per transaction from a store and 700 yen plus 10% of any auction bid if you go that route. So if you’re tired of seeing exclusives such as apparel and saying “Rinkya will rip me off if I order it”, then just think “thank goodness for EX Japan!” (author note: “yokatta” means “thank goodness” in Japanese)

Sweet Haruhi collection there.
Unfortunately I rarely have extra money to spend on anime. But I’ll keep that site in mind.
