I had enough of Haruhi and SOS-Dan. Quitting their club was the best thing to do and so, I joined the Astronomy Club. Things are exciting there. We have a young boy with a Ghibli haircut, a genki girl that sure will make things enjoyable around…and things “looks” really good around, thanks to Studio Comet.

Presenting Sora no Manimani, one of the new series for the summer season and one of those hidden gems that many seems to blog…I got this some weeks ago, but never had the chance to watch it. After the Haruhi fiasco, I took the plunge and decided to give it a shot and watch the first episode.

The story is about Saku Ōyagi, your typical bookworm. In the past, He had Mihoshi Akeno as a childhood friend…It was an awkward friendship because while He was enjoying his quiet life, Mii-chan dragged him to many adventures and in the process, had a traumatic experience (It is not THAT serious, it is comedy, not drama) so don´t worry.

Saku moved back to his hometown and that brought him many memories and of course, a reunion He wasnt expecting and wanted to avoid…an encounter with Mii-chan! She really loves him…pretty badly and also wants him to join her Astromomy club, with two other interesting characters, Yarai Sayo and president of the club, Takeyasu Roma.

The Trauma!

The Before and After…according to him…She has not changed a bit!

She must NOT notice I am here….My friend, it is too late!

I know him….I dont know her…Sure you do!

There were many great moments I enjoyed while watching this! Great Seiyuu works and flesh out their characters….and amazingly, the CGI blends well too.

I really enjoyed it. The comedy, the childhood friend cliche and the typical slice of life, combining the school days with Astronomy club topics. I highly recommend this, at least for the first episode. Gave Me good laughs and loved the chemistry of the characters. The OP and ED was not too impressive, but that does not substract the enjoyment I had with the show.

Sorry Haruhi, even if you and the rest imitates the Astronomy Club, I will not join you…until IT is over!

I am a little bit late…but it is going to be fun blogging this. As for Haruhi and her infamous Endless Eight club, I will continue to blog her repetitive episodes, but not as enthusiastic as this new undiscovered gem for the season.
