As you know, Street Fighter: The legend of Chun Li is going to hit theaters next month simultaneously in Japan and the U.S. However, the Japan release of the film is dubbed well…in japanese, and the seiyuu for Chun Li in that version is none other than The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Riisa Naka!

Riisa Naka (仲里依紗, Naka Riisa?, born on October 18, 1989 in Nagasaki prefecture) is a fashion model, as well as an actress in Japan. She is quarter swedish. Currently in Hinode highschool.

Street Fighter: The legend of Chun Li “pseudo” movie poster!

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is coming soon, but you can see the first poster for the movie now, thanks to kristinkreukweb.com

The concept is terrible! There are people already on the web talking that this could be nominated as the worst movie poster for 2009. I really dont like the heads inside the silhouettes. I think there are better artwork out there that could have been used as inspiration for this movie…like the one below for instance.

Let´s hope the movie is not as terrible as this “pseudo” movie poster!

This is the first of probably, several trailers, for the upcoming movie: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. I said “several” because I think this movie needs LOTS of promotion to succeed.
What is your opinion about this? Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is scheduled for February 2009.
The only thing that motivates me to watch this movie is Kristin Kreuk but if this movie is going to be like the Van-Damme´s Street Fighter, I will promise to myself that I am going to skip every single Street Fighter live action movie next time. Let´s hope it is not THAT bad!

Street Fighter Legends: Chun Li
There are many video game characters I like, but one that really shines is Chun-Li from Street Fighter. Undeniably, She is one of the queens of video games and 2009 promises to be the year of Chun-Li with her new live action movie and also a new comic!

The series focuses on a younger Chun-Li and one of her earliest assignments for the Hong Kong police. Along for the ride will be her partner Po-lin, a young woman who has a very personal score to settle with the terrorist Shadaloo organization. Expect this pair of lovely ladies to get into car chases, shoot outs, and plenty of fisticuffs as they fight their way to the truth about Shadaloo’s latest scheme.
But the cast isn’t made up exclusively of sexy female law officers! Fans will also get their first real looks at the lives of rarely-explored characters like Dorai, (Chun-Li’s father and fellow police officer) and Go Hibiki (the surprisingly competent father of everyone’s favorite walking joke, Dan). And, as always when dealing with Shadaloo, some well known boss characters will likely turn up to cause trouble!
Street Fighter Legends Chun #1 goes on sale January 2009, featuring covers by Omar Dogan and Kevin Lau.

As you can see in the following images, the action and the character designs are really gorgeous and follows the traditional style of CAPCOM.
I am fan of Udon since I read their other title Street Fighter Legends: Sakura, but unfortunately that series is out of print now. I am not going to miss this series and I am sure many Street Fighters fans will be on line to get this as well.
